The Emerald Queen Casino Taste of Tacoma® is Back Offering More Then Ever
The 2009 Emerald Queen Casino Taste of Tacoma® returns once again bringing food, drinks, entertainment and shopping to the Point Defiance Park in Tacoma, June 26 – 28. This year, the Taste will feature 50 food vendors, over 30 commercial vendors, 110 crafters and artisans, three beer gardens, a wine-tasting, four entertainment stages, a comedy club and the Funtastic carnival.
Admission is free and guests have the opportunity to save money while enjoying great food and having fun.
32 restaurants and 19 food vendors including Famous Dave’s Legendary Pit Bar-B-Que, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Delicious Asia, Tandoor Restaurant, Southern Kitchen, Papa Eddie’s Corner Café and Bar-B-Que and more will serve up a wide variety of delicious cuisine. Each restaurant will offer a $3 Taste menu item. This is a menu item that is $3 or less. With this new promotion, guests can try more food and spend less.
Guests can continue saving by purchasing a Taste It! Discount Meal Ticket book for $17 and get $20 worth of food – a 15% savings! The Taste It! Discount Meal Tickets will be available while supplies last at the ticket booth located at the entrance of the Point Defiance Park.
Guests over 21 may visit the beer gardens and the Wine & Roses wine-tasting event located in the Rose Garden. Proceeds from Wine & Roses will benefit the Greater Metro Parks Foundation.
Nearly 110 artisans and 40 commercial vendors will also be at the Taste showcasing crafts, jewelry, clothing, paintings, imports and more.
Funtastic Carnival offers fun for the whole family. The carnival will be located at the southwest part of Point Defiance Park featuring carnival rides and games. Guests can save even more by picking up a discount coupon and ride any six rides for only $12 – a 50% discount. Pick up free coupons at the 94.1 KMPS booth at the festival.
Finally, four different entertainment stages will offer a variety of music throughout the festival. The 94.1 KMPS Country and Blues stage will feature country music, the Saturn of Puyallup/KZOK 102.5 stage will feature retro and current hits, the BECU/KJR FM stage will feature popular covers and originals and the Sagelands Vineyard/98.9 KWJZ stage will feature smooth jazz in the Rose Garden.
Guests can drive or take the Piece Transit Taste Express to get to the Taste of Tacoma®. The Pierce Transit Taste Express runs all day every 15 minutes during the festival between TCC Transit Center and Point Defiance Park. The fare is only $1.75 each way or $3.50 for an All-day Pass on the weekend. Seniors and disabled riders may ride for 75 cents each way by showing their Regional Reduced Fare permit. Family Far (up to four children, 13 and under) ride free with a fare-paying passenger. Public parking is available in the Funland Parking Lot across the street from Point Defiance Park for $10 per car.
Guests are asked to leave their pets at home as pets are not allowed in the food court for sanitary and safety reasons.
